How to fix paper jam?

I'm here to teach how to remove paper jam.
This technic can applies to laser printer and laser fax machine.

Firstly, dont get nervous.
Follow my step:

Step 1 : Turn Off printer
Step 2 : Inspect the printer.
Step 3 : take out paper tray
Step 4 : Open toner door cover
Step 5 : take out toner from the printer/fax.
Step 6: Inspect the paper jam path

Step 7 a: If the paper jam at the pick-up assembly part,use your both hands pull out the paper(this step should be careful, DONT NOT TEAR OFF THE PAPER!!).If you unable to pull it you may need to manually rotate the roller and gear that feed the paper through the printer.

Step 7 b: If the paper jam at the Exit fusser assembly, u need to wait after the fusser cold down.approximately 10mins, open the fusser assembly door, use both hands to pull out, same as step 7a, do not tear off any part of the paper, if will difficult to take the small piece of paper that stuck inside.

Step 8:Turn the printer back on. If you continue to receive a printer jam error. There maybe something wrong in your printer.you need to contact technician help you onsite troubleshoot it.


* The cause of paper jam sometime is user does not install the paper properly or the paper is worn out.

Most of malaysia companies(including me) like using recycled-content paper, please becareful to check your paper, do not have any staple pin/clip staple on it.
